I want to be a singer?

All my life I've want to be a singer. It's my dream.

I'm 14 now and everyone is asking what I want to do with life, and I always make something up because truthfully I can't see myself doing anything other than be a singer.

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but in my opinion I'm a pretty good singer. I've always been too sacred to tell my parents or even my sister this dream. I've written songs but I don't know how to do it, I don't know how to make it happen.

I'm not American, I'm Irish and that makes it even harder to make it happen.

No I can't start a band because I don't know anyone that plays an instrument and I don't either. Can someone please tell me what to do or give me advice or just downright tell me it's not gonna fucking happen.

I'm curious how you wrote a song without being able to play an instrument. I would suggest getting a guitar and playing your own songs (or finding someone that can). Make a YouTube video and see what happens. Be prepared that people are going to tell you that you suck. Find a confidant that you can talk to. Your sister or your parents. I doubt your parents will think this is a good idea but maybe your sister. You need to find someone that is going to support your dream. Once you are 18, you can start finding places to play at. I'm not too familiar with Irish culture but you can play in pubs, right? Maybe move to London or New York and see what happens there. It will take a long time and a lot of people will be against you. Hey, U2 did it so can you. There is a documentary about Twisted Sister (a heavy metal band from the 80's) on Netflix. Even if your not a fan, it shows that there were selling out huge clubs back in the day and it still took them 10 years to get signed by a record company. Or check out any other band's story of how they finally made it. Good luck. Chase your dream because if you don't, you will always regret it.
