How long was your training? And how long did it take you to get to where you are now?

Started at 10 on monopoly board. Rented first house on family farm at 13.
Real estate credentials at 19
Inspectors license and GC before grad school.
Accounting and Business in university.
Work in Units, Building, Real Estate internationally. Business owner.

Regrets: stopped learning. not doing heat/air, electric, and plumbing vendor courses. Especially, heating and air.

I'm a metals dealer, started out in non ferrous scrap at 8 and later moved on to silver then gold and now do them all if opportunity knocks

No formal training but informal probably a year for non-ferrous but easily a couple apiece for silver and gold

Getting to my current level started out properly 5 years ago with a compensation payout and grew bigger as the market opened up now I'm the only dealer left for about 10 miles

I’m a grade school teacher. I teach second graders and used to teach kindergartners. I spent 5 years in college and have been teaching for 4 years.

That’s cool!! I’m sure college was a pull on your sleep schedule, do you have kids? I’d imagine it’d make your job that much harder if you did

Thanks! College is was crazy but I was young and able to handle it. I don’t have kids. That would definitely make things more difficult!

I deal with the world of insurance. Took less than a year to get the hang of it and then a few years to get polished at it. Took about 10 years to get to the level I'm at now. It's a people person job so if you like people and meeting new people, it's fun. The insurance its self is challenging at times but I stay in it for the people I meet and interact with.

I'm an Executive Assistant and specialize in managing executive offices as well as writing for them and some personal assistant tasks. I started doing this job when I was 26 and really got to be a specialist about 12 years ago.

I'm a licensed electrician. I went to a trade school instead of a college. I worked under a licensed electrician for 10 years before I got my master electrician license. I've had my own business for 10 years

Im a state vehicle emissions inspector for California. Took me about 3 years for the experience and less than six months once I was trained. Been doing it for the last 10 years.
