"famous" in New Zealand is a pretty low bar. The people who went to my school are all sports stars, mostly rugby players like Tana Umanga (I went to school with his nephews who are now up and coming rugby stars).
The former Australian prime minister Tony Abbotts wife also attended my school.

Snoop Dog didn’t go to my high school but he went to Jr High in my neighborhood. Actually met him at a friends house years ago. Also used to see Sublime play live at backyard parties quite often but again they didn’t go to my school. A few professional baseball players, football players, Olympic medalists and a few not too famous actors.

One thing's for sure, a lot of people in the area know me from funerals and visitations even though I don't remember them. People stop and visit with me in restaurants, stores, wherever, which I thoroughly enjoy. A couple times my husband has asked "is there anyone here who doesn't know you?" I suppose that's a great business advantage, but if I ever decide to rob banks I definitely need to do it somewhere out of the area; people are sure to recognize my photo on Crimestoppers if I do it here.
