Surely for him it would make more sense to have you doing more shifts because of the cheaper labour for younger people.
You are just not getting enough work, it's not money. But if you are struggling to get hours to work then I would look for another part time job alongside it or a new job altogether that gives you the hours you are looking for

grocery stores are notorious for having a huge labor force and turnover rate. i would definitely talk to your supervisor or their supervisor about this if you have a decent record of showing up and doing your job.

Wow my grocery store is the opposite. The store director is cool. One of my coworkers is working 7 days a week because he needs the money. I work 5 days a week and can stay however long i want. Although my feet start hurting me from standing too much so 8 hours a day for 5 days is good enough for me. Maybe time to change grocery stores?

No shifts = no hours of work = no money paid
You are likely getting too expensive since minimum wage changes for adults (in most countries)Maybe it's time to find a higher paying job that will give you more hours. It's a good time to look because everyone is hiring
