If I cannot get a job, what do I do?

I am normally a software/web dev. I was laid off from my last role 3 months ago. Since, it has been challenging even to be considered for an interview for another dev role, despite having 3 years total experience in the industry.

To make matters worse, I have attempted to apply to lower jobs just to earn some income in the meantime, but none of those jobs have called me back. I do have a stalking and harassment conviction from 7 years ago. Although, I wasn't having this much trouble before. I mean, I am even struggling to get a job as a night stocker at a grocery store. A rather funny pun, I was thinking I would be "the stalker that stocks"... lol 😜

• Expand your job search. Apply for jobs beyond software development and night stocking. Consider customer service, data entry, administration, retail, etc. The more options you have, the better.

• Improve your resume and cover letter. Have someone review them to ensure they highlight your skills and experience in the best light. Tailor each one to the specific job you're applying for.

• Follow up proactively. When you apply for a job, follow up with an email or call a few days later. Ask if they need any further information from you. This shows initiative.

• Consider freelancing or contract work. If traditional full-time jobs are difficult to land, freelancing in your field could generate some income in the meantime. Look for gigs on sites like Upwork, Fiverr, etc.

• Consider temporary or staffing agencies. These agencies can help match you with short or long-term jobs that suit your skills. They may be more willing to overlook aspects of your background.

damn, it took me about a year to find the job I have now. I am a Network Administrator. There are a lot of jobs out there but most were either too fsr to commute or else the job did not sound very good.

Go offer your services. Do something for someone for free. Try it, it'll work. Find something you can do for someone or some company. Don't even ask them unless u have too.

I have literally applied for over 600 jobs this month. I am on disability at the moment, but of course, I want to get off that because it pays right at poverty level.

Easier said than done. I need to be good at sales to an extent and have clients. I am not a marketing web developer. I am more of a web application developer. Bottom line, I would need a customer base.
