I am invited to act as an extra, is it worth it?

I have never tried acting but my grandma was a famous actress in Soviet Union. I feel like acting as an extra is not for me, as it’s not even acting but that being said I haven’t tried any kind of acting and I don’t speak good enough Chinese. So, I wonder, maybe I should try that to get into this field. Your suggestions?

I turned it down and told them to call me when they have more interesting projects and a higher payment. Let’s see.

You will make around $100 and will do a lot of sitting around in the holding area. They also give you a pretty good lunch. It's fun to see how a movie is made and if you are in Los Angeles or Atlanta you will likely be some big movies as most are made in one of those cities.

I am in Shanghai and payment is just 200 USD. So it’s basically for free. I don’t care about the money though, I would act for free if it was a good role haha, but it’s just extra

You will be an extra so the role and acting are very very small and you will likely just be a passing figure in the movie.

It might be interesting. I would do it for the experience. I dated somebody who was an extra in the movie Black Sunday. We rented the movie on VHS and she showed me where she was. It was pretty cool.

I am just a bit disappointed, because my grandma was a famous actress and what would she think of me playing extra roles 😅

But I don’t know she might have encouraged me, who knows. Because after all, that can be a start of something else.

I was an extra for one film but didn't make the final cut. I neve saw it on the big screen but on TV I was I s not seen.
