Is it worth it?

I have an Asus E410 laptop that i need for University. But my sister dropped her cup onto it and broke the screen. Just over half of it is gone. Is it worth fixing? If so how much roughly would it cost?
Do i just get a new one instead?

The only problem is my parents bought me it for Christmas and they don't know about it so i would prefer if it stays this way. But i live with them so i would need to try and sneak my old one out to get it fixed or try and sneak a new one in and get rid of my old one

Checked the specifications, and even the best version of E410 is really slow. I can only imagine, frustrated how slow it works I'd probably be so bored I'd slam my cock between the screen and keyboard, breaking the screen anyway.

If it has HDMI ports, you can get a $50 external monitor powered by usb, potentially higher definition than the one attached to it.

But if you get an external screen, might as well get a touch screen, then buy a chinese motherboard straight from engineers with soldered 13th gen intel cpu for $150, then a $25 pico-psu and slap a random 11.4-12.6v battery onto it. If you don't have one then get the bare minimum for $20. Then even with bare minimum SSD storage you can get new for $25, plus you could find a ram stick for $30 with no less than the 4gb yours had, to build a brand new "laptop" (portable pc... with touchscreen) 100 times faster than yours, totaling $250, and yours cost probably exactly that if not more. Where nearly all parts are upgradable and reusable.

Sorry to say it’s probably not worth fixing. Laptops are not very expensive these days unless you get a high end gaming computer (which you don’t need for collage).

I just checked. $140-$150 on amazon you can get a new one.

forget about it. You can replace it with a used laptop for much less than it would cost to repair. You can retrieve the hard drive to get any data you want.

If you can buy the screen part for 50€/$ and do the repair yourself, sure.
