Why did my boss tell me to "curb my enthusiasm"?

So I just started in estimating and I feel that I am doing well. I take initiation and I try to bring my best in everything that I do. I have been offering my manager my help in everything and today he said that I need to "curb my enthusiasm" What did he mean by that?

You are pushing him more than he wants to be pushed. One can get too much fond to quickly and make others look bad.
Observe more, think before speak, and interpret nonverbals better. Big organization do not like Fast.

you annoy him... its like a person who is always smiling and happy and tries to convince others... and if you are not happy he will bother you. Thats the same situation :)
