Best advice I have ever gotten, is you have to be able to have uncomfortable conversations with people, cause that will actually improve your relationship, most people avoid uncomfortable conversations, and the relationships falls apart.

A governor of a prison told me this, I was actually in hot water about something, he said James, you have to have uncomfortable conversations. That hit me like a tonne of bricks, I thought thats were I am going wrong in my life, with relationships.

I have left the prison service, not a very nice culture. So I have given up to study and get into the IT industry, that's were most of the jobs will in the future. Also AI will take over a lot of manual labouring jobs in the future.

Every living thing on this planet is you, just born under different circumstances. You could be just like the person you hate most in this world and all it would take is for you to have had the same experiences as they did while handling them the same way. They are still you. They’re just not YOU.

I don't believe I was ever advised anything remotely smart. For one reason or another, almost all of it was a waste of time/dead-end producing.

(Not that I am not smarter than 99. something% of people, but I did expect some would know a thing or two very well).

Yeah, seems bizzare in this culture of pretense that there is someone who knows better and has it together. We're being abused by tge overpopulating peoples and we are accepting to oay them for it with no insistence on our own governments to immediately cut foreign aid to zero and ban overpopulators from entry to our lands.

Well I don't want to be giving advice, at least not lightheartedly. I do share my thoughts here as I go through them. At some point the so called 'political correctness' was heavily against my views that whites are not the bad people with blacks being the good people. As a rule, it is the other way around (I consider Indians/Pakistanis etc to all be varying shades of blackness)
When or if I have advice I am certain is true and foolproof, or at least largely covering the topic, like my experience with being swindled by blacks and Indians who on top of it expect privilege and praise because they keep fabricating the 'white guilt', I will share it. Until then, I suppose you are the lucky person to know it 😉

"Always be on the offensive" It was from a coach during sparring to dictate the pace. To not let pressure overwhelm you. But you can apply that to other things in life as well. A lot of people seem to love to whine and cry instead of doing something about it.

"Beat'em to the punchline." My dad's advice to me when dealing with bullies and detractors in life. Most hostile egos deflate if you steal what they enjoy, which is usually a laugh at someone else's expense. For everything else defend yourself accordingly. "No matter if it's verbal or physical son, Beat'em to the Punchline."

It was from my Mom. She told me when I was about 11 years old that if I ever buy a house, to make sure to have the taxes and insurance included in the mortgage payment. She was so right! That's the only way to do it.
She gave me that advice because the tax collector came to our house and wanted the yearly tax money. Mom didn't have it and we lost our 🏠 home 😞

My mom and dad told me your word means everything, people will judge you on it. So if you say you're going to do something, be sure you do it and don't make excuses. Also, if you are going to see someone, stay committed and do not screw around with someone's heart, treat them like you want to be treated in return.

Maximize your retirement contributions when your young. Because I've had longer time compounding with larger amounts. I don't have to work nearly as hard now.

    • Anonymous

It starts with knowing what you NEED not WANT to live on. At the time when I started the max contribution was 15% of my income.

I mean for example 15% of a 40k income compounding at a very reachable 7% return from age 25 to 65 would be 1.2 million dollars. This is similar to my portfolio. I'm only at the halfway point. But I'm on pace to hit that mark. And the important thing to remember is you never know what life is going to throw at you. I may only have about a half million. But if for whatever reason I hit a financial hardship and am no longer able to contribute to my retirement. Then I still have a half million accumulated. Which means I'll still be compounding at what I've amassed. So 7% on half a million would be 35k a year. So even at this point you see how your nest egg becomes self sustaining? This is how lasting wealth is created.
Enjoy your youth hun. You'll never get those days again. But remember not to neglect your future.
