Do you take advantage of benefits your job offers?

I just signed up for my job's health insurance, vision insurance, and 401k. My insurance is Blue Cross, and my vision is VSP. My 401K is through T Rowe Price. Altogether, my health and vision are $78 per month, and I have 3% going to my Roth and 1% pretax. My benefits go into effect on the 28th.

Yes! I look at it like this, I am working for you and I don’t always like it so give me those benefits and give them to me now😂 they’re using you for everything u can offer so I say do the same !

You bet. My former employer (I'm retired now) had an excellent benefits package, similar to what you describe. It allowed me to take good care if my family, and the company matched up to 6% of my salary in 401K, which gave me a nice retirement nest egg.

Yes. If I have an HSA and am eligible to contribute to it, I load that up for the double tax break (tax-free contributions AND tax-free withdrawals for qualified expenses).

If the 401k (or similar plan like 403b, TSP, etc. depending on job) matches contributions, I ensure that I get the full match.
