I’ve got contacted from the job, I’ve been trying to get for one month, the shareholder and one of the board members of the management team told me tomorrow they’ll finally decide whether they’ll hire me or not.
The shareholder who interviewed me says he really wants me to get hired and has been trying to persuade some of his fellow board members who think differently.
The thing is, if I get hired I’ll get to train, hire and fire, or give out the license to the foreign professionals, master’s and phd holders of the profession in which I hold no degree and basically I am just an amateur with just exceptionally good experience. My degree is different from this profession.
I am also the youngest candidate they’ve had for this job.
- Management team is cut in half, half of them favors my candidate and another half of them vote against me. Those who vote for me, think that I am professional in what I do, I have a an excellent experience, good approach to my work and very good results that are worth learning about and that I can teach a lot to people who might have lots of theoretical knowledge but no practice. They also have received really good recommendations for me from my current and former employers. I am the only person without the degree in that position whose candidate has ever been discussed by them. I was told, they have never considered anyone like this for this position before.
- The ones who vote against me think that I might be a good candidate but it’s not prestigious for them to hire someone who might have lower qualifications than that of the people I’ll have to train, hire and fire.
I understand both sides really well.
I don’t blame those who are against me, that’s a very logical thing to think.
I don’t have an ambition that I am better than any other professionals, my only ambition is that I do have a great practice and great experience, from which a lot can be learned even by the people who have lots of theoretical knowledge.
