Is it weird that all my peers and classmates became rich while I'm still in limbo?

One of my fellow students became a professor at a very elite school in America, another two got PhDs and went to Ivy League schools, another became a corporate lawyer trained at the best law school in the country, others got medical degrees and went to top schools or work in elite fields, one got a job that pays over $500,000 a year. Even my best friend who had a brain tumour became a pharmacy professor 12 years later. My other friend flunked out of college but married a banking millionaire and spends more money than a surgeon as a house wife. She is also the most amazing mother ever. I worked moderately hard too so I expect to be somewhere on the graph one day - it's just my time has not come yet.

I seriously doubt your entire class became rich, the world doesn't work like that. Those that did probably had the right connections or took good advice early in their careers, some would simply have gotten lucky. I suspect quite a few are bullshitting you and are working in MacDonald's.

Your best bet is to sit down with someone who can give you an honest appraisal of your plans and look at your groundwork to see if it's going to lead anywhere.
It's a common problem to put a lot of effort into something and be blind to the fact its not going to pay off. You always think one more push, one more step etc and things will one day it'll pay off. But a lot of the time it doesn't and a fresh pair of eyes can see where your going wrong. Good luck.

Judging from your postings here, you are constantly juggling at least 7482 ideas, concepts, projects and wishes. How do you expect to finish some of them, let alone build a career when you are swirling around like the Tasmanian Devil? 🤔

Have you drafted any chapters of that book you were wanting to write yet? If you don’t do that, or something else that might make money, you’ll be lucky to be middle class let alone rich.

Many of my classmates were born into big money. I just compete against myself to be as efficient and sufficient as I can be. I do not expect to ever have hundreds of millions, but I do not need that much to retire by 40.
