If you're the one asking for it and the person is a boss or someone senior to you in the company, keep it to 45 minutes. That respects their time. If they want the meeting to keep going, they'll tell you.

If they're a peer, ask them how much time they have and act accordingly.

Have a rough agenda in your mind of what you want to talk about so you don't ramble.

Don't ask questions you can answer off Google, Linked in, or the company web site

Listen to the answers closely and ask a little about the answers

Don't be afraid to talk about and share about you. 🙂 Make you unique.

Send a thank you note. Handwritten. By mail. If anyone tells you that's old fashioned or bad advice, don't listen. You will be remembered for that.

Coffee shop next door to work? Could maybe swing 45 minutes. I've had some go all afternoon and one go into the next day. So..."it depends" is the only honest answer.

If you're getting paid and nobody is dying then stay as long as you can - realistically though they'll probably end it around 30 - 45 mins

I use coffee a lot in my work some times a situation might last an hour plus and other have been barely 5 minutes to end up with a result
