Biden wants to help college students to pay off student loans. But no one seems to want to control the rising costs of college education. How many un related courses were you required to take in order to earn your degree.
A mandatory class that you had to pay for and pass that in no way, shape or form had anything to do with your major.
What major were you taking and what was the class? How much did that class add to your student debt?
Let's break this down a bit, while basket weaving is likely a useless class for an accountant, the idea is to create a well-rounded student. These classes were around way before the costs of college got ridiculous. What did correlate with college costs rising was the government refusing to allow students to declare bankruptcy and remove the college debt and guaranteed the loans to the institutions. When these two things took place, it took away any incentive for colleges to cut costs. Furthermore, the students have themselves to blame. When they're choosing colleges, they're impressed by the ones with 3 swimming pools and 27 food choices, and winning football teams. Those things cost money.
