Some people stop living when they reach adulthood. There is no ore wonder about life and our whole lives are just filled with the mundane task of a job and raising a family. By the time you can start to live again you are too old and broken to enjoy it. And then you die

I think it’s talking about how some people’s spirits and souls die young, maybe from a horrible traumatic experience or something.
I would guess this is a quote you’d find on a mental health awareness page or something.
