I selected 75%, but it's actually closer to 68%.

I have a low cost of living, and I live in an area with a decent paying job. The great thing is I'm finishing nursing school soon and will be soon making almost double what I do now, so that savings number is just going to go up. I should be able to get by on about 20% of my earnings.

Between retirement savings, savings for a down payment on a new home, and a college investment account for our son, we save around 20% of our income. That doesn't include surplus cash in our checking account that we occasionally transfer to savings or retirement accounts.
