What do you look for if searching for a new job?
Yeah, I think all that is a part of the problem. I mean when my kids were young, my wife and did the math. Basically, if she kept working, she would make about $400.00 dollars extra a month after we paid for day care. So is an extra $400 a month worth all the bullshit you listed out that employers pull on you.
I read that list and basically that is the story of every job I ever had.
But the real reason why people are working less and less, is because of welfare. Why deal with the bullshit for a few extra 100 a month, when you can live on welfare and not work. Still have medical through the state, food stamps, and other forms of government assistance.

Inflation and not having the same opportunity as people in the past in terms of buying a house. The population has went up from 500 million to 8 billion people in a span of 500 years. That's a 1600% increase in 500 years. Overpopulation IS a thing. And the real estate market is affected each year and it gets harder for younger people to get into the market.
Then there's the media which has painted a glorified millionaire life where you can have freedom with your time and vacation often on luxurious trips. People all want that life and being stuck with a 9-5 will never get them there.
Something about being abused by patients daily for less than minimum wage will never sit right with me but I have to do it 🙄

I stopped working and work as house husband as my wife brings in the $.
I work a lot, but I'm not paid in $ and thus not taxed on it. I work to save money, reduce our costs and increase our quality of life. I fix things... the house, cars, yard work. I cook so we have less expensive but higher quality food. etc...
If I went to get a job, a lot of it would go to taxes... e. g. be confiscated by the govt. so why work... to bloat the govt?
There are reasons to do a job... for my own self fulfillment, and I'm considering that. but getting to the jobs I'd like... would take so much commitment of time in education and at my age... would they even hire me? I don't see how to pull it off. some do... so maybe I need to focus more.
I am always looking for a better job. I am on a few sites like indeed that notify me when jobs I qualify for come up. I then call them and do all my questioning on the phone and if it sounds good I try to do phone interviews or on weekend if possible so I don’t have to take off of work. If everything works out I put in a two weeks notice. Once I was given a raise to stay and most would take me back if I wanted to go back.
When you look for a new job, or interview for one, it's essential to do your homework about the employer first. You should know more about them than they know about you when you have that first interview, because you're deciding if you want to be there just as much as them deciding they want to have you.
Because working for someone else or company that isn't your dream and passion is a total waste of time especially when the money sucks which a lot of these employers don't like to pay decent nor raise salary and if they do they nickel and dime you.
We have one life to live and spending our time doing a damn job for 8 plus hours is taking away time from your life.
I've never had a job offer less than what was posted. Usually they post a range and the exact number offered in an interview is based on your background experience.
When exactly has anyone ever gone to an "interview" and it turned out to be a job requiring military enlistment?
Without exception, the biggest reason I've ever grown to hate a job is because of bad leadership/senior management. The military/government and private sector are no different in this aspect.
There's many reasons, working a 9-5 is basically existing not living and I feel like this is one of the main ones, these wealthy companies are not only milking us but they are working us to death.
All men have to register anyway, if you plan to register to vote in the country. You have to register, i case the draft comes back. It's just how it works
Also, to be fair, graphic design, what my mom does, is dying. So much of it is computer generated now (AI), and isn't a necessary job at this point. They shouldn't have lied about it thoughI have been working full time since i was 17 except for being in basic training and I would like to be able to take more time do travel and engage in activities I have always been too busy to do.
Probably, I don't know because I've been self employed these last 18 years.
Okay I did a year between 16 and 17 in the local Italian restaurant but the money was a lower priority than improving my kitchen skills and well all the bonuses like eating for free, drinking for free, meeting people, getting in shape and even my second relationship were unintended side effectsIf they lie about the location, hours, pay, or job duties I'm out, they can go fuck themselves.
For some it is the crappy jobs they can get. For others it is the marginal increase in income is not worth losing the government benefits.
People want to work. It's just a nonsensical statement that has been used since modern media exist.
