I dropped out of college because I'm already making a living, but I'll share my thoughts and process with you.
You want money... Even though it might sound harsh to some, consider the increasing cost of living and the diminishing prevalence of passion, especially in Western societies. Look ahead and evaluate what career path you believe will bring you the most financial success.
Technology is advancing rapidly, and professions like software engineering are witnessing a rise in pay. Many well-regarded positions currently offer salaries starting at 100k and can go up to 300k. I chose to study computer science; it demands a lot of work and hours, but the effort is worthwhile. The dedication to learning built a significant level of discipline also.
Alternatively, you can chase for professions that are often overlooked, like plumbing or even becoming a garbage collector. These roles, due to their unpopularity, often provide higher pay to attract more people, because no one wants to pursue these.
I did this once. I had to look at the constraints of my life. I was married with three kids. I needed to choose a career that was in demand and made a decent amount of money. I had to find something that I thought that I could be good at and something that did not involve heights because I am afraid of heights.
I narrowed it down to working in IT and becoming an attorney. I chose IT because there is already too many lawyers and at the time everyone in IT was getting rich.
I could not try to do something cool or fun because the odds are pretty slim you will succeed unless you are related to somebody.
There are job counselors, it might be worth it to talk to one of them.
Maybe a tech school for a skilled trade.
They pay you to learn, easy to get a very good paying job.
