Should I shake the hands of interviewer before or after the interview?

I had an interview last week and I didn't shake the interviewers hand before the interview but I did shook her hand after the interview is that wrong?

Nah, shaking hands after the interview is totally fine, nothing wrong with that at all.

Personally, I'd probably shake their hand at the beginning and end just to be polite. But really it doesn't make a huge difference as long as you shake at some point.

The main thing is you showed respect by shaking their hand after. I doubt shaking beforehand would have changed the outcome of the interview either way.

In the future, a quick handshake when you first meet them sets a nice professional tone. But if you forget or whatever, ending with one works just as well.

As long as the convo went well and you seemed interested, friendly and capable, one handshake vs two probably won't be a dealbreaker for them. Don't stress too much about little details like that bro.

And hey, if you don't hear back, don't count yourself out yet - could be other applicants they picked first too, you never know. Keep your head up either way!

The interviewer should actually instigate this, they need to get the interviewee relaxed and feel comfortable, that includes a greeting including a handshake. Or at least that is how I view it.

No, people are nasty. A lot of women in corporate America go to the bathroom and don’t wash their hands. Not to be bias but Asians, white & Spanish females don’t wash their hands. All the time when I’m out in public they come out the stall and keep on going.

As a person who conducts interviews…. this does not matter and won't influence the decision of whether you get the job or not.
