What’s a free or cheap website I can use to sell things on?

I want to have my on website and sell somethings. Nothing’s necessarily free in America so Im happy to see what system won’t charge me a huge percentage of my hard working money. I’m about to start doing research now.

Here are some good free or cheap options for setting up an online shop to sell stuff:

- eBay - This one is well known and you can list items for free or a low insertion fee. They do take a percentage of final sale price though.

- Etsy - More for artsy homemade type goods. You can start a basic shop for like $0.20 per listing I think. Also takes a percentage cut.

- Depop - Good for clothes, accessories, vintage stuff. Free to make a shop and list items. Similar percentage fees as eBay/Etsy.

- Facebook Marketplace - Totally free, you can sell locally on your city's FB page or ship items. Just have to meet up/ship on your own.

- Instagram/Blog - Not an actual shop but you can showcase your items on social media and do contact for payment/shipping.

- Shopify - More advanced full-site option but they have free trial periods and some cheap basic site plans too.

Instagram is also an option if you’re opening a small part-time business.



If you want to open a full blown e-commerce business though, that’s going to likely require a paid subscription to something like Squarespace, as well as a lot of logistical know-how like how to work with manufacturers, handle inventory and shipping, execute marketing and branding campaigns, and more.
