Job offer signed no mention of drug testing on phone or in paperwork. Will they still test?

My man just got a job offer and signed all his paperwork. The employer even called them and nothing was mentioned. Are they still going to test him?

Most companies today require a pre-employment drug test. Thst us typically mentioned in the acceptance letter. Even if it's not mentioned, the company can legally require it, unless the job is under union supervision and the union contract requires something else.

He wouldn’t be working for the Union. Some of the employees who he’d be doing the paperwork and accounting for would be though. Hard to say. He’s been wanting to quit for a while. I think this may just be when he does though.

No. Even though it may be legal, springing an unannounced test on a prospective employee is not only sneaky, it's also potentially a huge waste of time for both the employee and the company itself. If it wasn't indicated previously, then it's highly unlikely that you'll be asked to take one when you arrive.

If the job requires a drug test. Then yes, he will be required to have one. Drug testing is a government requirement for some jobs.

Oh it isn’t a government job. It didn’t say anything on the advertisement, nothing was mentioned he was recruited and nothing was mentioned during the interview.
