Why people assume we get higher positions at jobs base off our skin complexion?

Today a Mexican woman told me straight to my face whem she ask to speak to the manager I said well I am how can I help you? I never brough race into the conversation this crazy woman tells me oh you got that high management position thanks to your fair light skin complexion. I was so angry I was like not really but trade school and hard work help me reach this goal what makesyou think that? Later she jumps to her complain about why so many white people shop here. Why on earth people are so obsessed with racenow a days? Last thing I know jobs requires haed work experience a certification trade school or degree to get hire what planet is this woman living in?

Most racism is in the heads of the people who feel they are victims these days. Sadly race is often used to try to gain advantage, by implying successfully that the reason one failed was their race, and claiming anyone of their race who succeeded was as "shill" for some other race.

It's very sad, all you can do is be polite and give them no ammunition to try to boost their claims (which is what they seek by invoking race in the beginning).

You are absolutely correct everything you had mentioned makes a lot of sense. All I can do is be polite and deal with their disgusting behavior. Funny It took me almost a decade to reach successful goal. Went to trade school because I didn't want to put myself in debt.

Agreed. I feel sorry for such people, ones who where brought up (or otherwise taught) to look for blame in the way others treat them rather than ask themselves how they can improve their situation, what they might have done, and why they are being picked on (clue for the unawre, we are picked on because others can and we are sensitive on the subject matter, people will just keep moving between areas until they see the reaction they seek, in this case, looking for a discount).

I don't deny its a difficult life, and it is very hard for anyone who doesn't have natural connections to people around them (a person new anywhere will have a more difficult life). When I was growing up, my experience was bad people just find whatever is your personal weakness / fear and prey upon that for their own entertainment or agrandisement. The foolish person is lead to think its either true or represents a commonly held truth. We where lucky though, to have the brains and skills. At school I was wrongly equated to someone of another race for the purpose of bulling; It made it all very clear to me, bullies (aka bad people) aren't actually picking on the race, their making a powerbase (they can't even tell which person is the race they're attack, they are just attacking people wherever they are weakest).

Cause that's actually true in some cases. You'll never know cause your getting the preferential treatment. But that definitely a thing I'm judged all the time on my appearance. Like when I was in college people always assumed I was on an athletic scholarship but I was on an academic scholarship and when I'd tell people they'd always be shocked
