Why discrimination base on skin colors still exist?

I got invited to a party where my male friend offered to drive me there , so i invited the other female friend but she refused to go with me if my other male friend drove us because she said he scares her and she doesn't like him 😪 ( he’s black )

I have been trying to understand her and asked what did he do that scared her? But she didn't say anything at all so it made me think that probably because he’s black. 🤷‍♀️
