learn it from the region you're going to use it for...
there's Spain, there's Mexico... there's the Caribe, there's Central America... Colombia and Venezuela, there's Los Andes, there's Chile... Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay
and there's USA's Spanish too
if you're going to learn Castellano, which is the language they use in Spain... that one is a lot less international and very local to Madrid, Spain only, not even the entire country... you would be better off learning the Spanish used in Mexico, which is the one that is vastly appreciated for literature, cinema, entertainment and business in general
Truer? lol my mom is from Madrid and the Spanish they speak in Spain is more textbook sounding. The kind from Mexico uses more slang with a bit different accent. I wouldn’t say one is more true than the other just different.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. I prefer Spain over Mexico because of the history. After all it’s where it all started. Thanks for your reply.
The rule for any language is to concentrate on the dialect you'll be in most contact with.
