I have applied for a job but haven't finished the recruitment phase, the advert has been removed?

The advert stated it would be active until the position has been filled, my applications shows incomplete as its needs further details to go to the next stage. The application is allowing me to complete the next stage so has the position been filled as the advert has been removed.

Hmm that's really weird that the job posting got taken down even though your application isn't complete yet. A few things could have happened:

- They may have already found someone really good for the role and decided to hire internally instead of continuing external applications. Sometimes companies do that.

- It's possible the job got cancelled or budgeted for it got cut, so they stopped considering more people. Happens sometimes too unfortunately.

- The people doing the hiring could have changed or something happened with the team, so they removed all open reqs to re-post later.

I would keep trying to finish your application in case. But you may also want to email the recruiter or hiring manager, if you can find their contact info. Politely explain you had started applying before the posting was removed, and ask if the role is still open and under consideration. Give them your info so they have it, in case something falls through with another candidate.

It's possible they'll say it's filled, but at least you tried to follow up instead of leaving it unknown. And who knows, maybe they'll give you a chance since you showed initiative. Fingers crossed it works out somehow! Let me know if you hear back from them.
