The job posting was taken down before my interview means I am no longer eligible for the position?

I have an interview in three days, and my status is "in progress". But the job posting has been taken down. Does it mean the position has already been filled?

Usually when they take it down it means the job has been taken but if you still have your interview going ahead maybe they took it down because they have enough candidates applying for the role and they are just waiting to go through all of the interviews to make their decision

they reached out the day after I applied online and gave me an interview day. I have an interview this week. it is weird the job no longer exists.

It's not really weird it has been taken down. There could have been hundreds of people who applied for the job and they have narrowed it down to x amount of qualified people to take through for the interview process. Some companies when they receive a lot of candidates they know for certain once the interview process starts they will fill the role.

You could maybe try calling the company and just make an inquiry. Explain you saw a job advertisement for the position of and you were just wondering if the job position is still open or if it has been filled

Maybe they've already made a decision or feel they have enough qualified candidates from the ones that applied.
