It’s about time I land transfer somewhere with my job and start new, I’m hardly making progress here in Hawaii.
Here are some cool places I've heard about on the West Coast that could be worth checking out:
- Portland, Oregon - I've heard Portland is super chill and outdoorsy. Lots of green spaces, tasty food, and craft beer. Seems like an all around fun vibe.
- San Diego - The weather is supposed to be amazing all year round. You're also right by the beach and can surf whenever. Lots of sights to see too like the San Diego Zoo.
- Seattle, Washington - A bit more overcast than the others but still beautiful scenery of mountains and water. They've got awesome coffee, music scenes, and big city perks in a smaller package.
- Santa Barbara, California - Everything I've seen makes it look so picturesque. Beach towns always seem more laid back to live in compared to huge cities too. Might be pricey though.
- Boulder, Colorado - It's not right on the coast but the Rockies are totally amazing. Heard it's a super healthy and outdoorsy city. Could be a cool change of pace from island life.
I'd research cost of living vs salary in your field for each place. But any of those seem like they'd be a major upgrade over here in Hawaii as far as career moves go and new adventures. West Coast is the best coast, dude! Let me know which ones interest you most.

Well you’re definitely going to want to stay in Southern California if you want to stay relatively warm compared to Hawaii. Lots of beautiful places in OC and SD county.
