If you were to homeschool your children, what would you teach them and why?

I plan on homeschooling my kids if I ever have kids and have thought about this a lot. I would teach them to think for themselves and learn how to filter information in the media. I would teach them that I have views, but not all of them are necessarily correct, so even while listening to me, don't just assume I'm right. I would teach them psychology and how to read people. I'd teach them philosophy and my opinions of the world. I'd teach them math up to what I know and then let them do self learning on their own. Same for literature, sciences, construction, etc. I would teach them to cook and how to garden. I would teach them what I know of taxes and finances then tell them the more they learn about these, the better off they'd be in life. I'd teach them how to swim to the extent that I can, then put them into swimming lessons so they have the option of being a lifeguard. I'd get them into piano and guitar lessons. And because I was always a soccer player, I'd teach them what I know in soccer, but only if they like the sport.

If I were to home-school I'd have no problems as there are plenty of home-school syllabuses available on-line from basic Three R's, to the equivalent of full high school syllabuses including all the sciences, without them being biased by Political/Left POV's as is often the case in schools today. Teaching at home is not difficult I did it for the youngest of my siblings and all of my nieces & nephews before they started formal education, one their first day at school the could all read, write, and do basic maths, probably to a higher standard than some students who finish high school today.

If home school was the only option I would teach them the basics of everything they need to know to be a reliable adult. I wouldn’t coddle them, but I want to light a fire in their belly to get out there and do something they’re passionate about. I want to show them all the cool professions there are. Reality is a real bitch but if they are dedicated enough they may be able to get into what they want and have a real passion for it.

I don’t plan on ever having children but hypothetically for the sake of answering the question, I would teach the basic stuff like science and history but I would also teach stuff like taxes, how to read a clock, as well as politics and anti feminism.

I would teach them practical skills although which skills would vary based on the kids' gender: boys would learn how to change a flat tire, jump a car, the importance of lifting, and the importance of making money and spending it wisely; girls would learn domestic skills such as cooking, baking bread from scratch, cleaning, dieting, and child care; both would learn budgeting and to resist the slave mind.

A curriculum which would get them ready to prosper in the second half of the 21st century, plus a TRUE reading of history, not the religious fanatic/racism apologist pablum served to today's children to make them mindless followers and consumers rather than citizens.

If I have kids I would teach them hands on and in an engaging way I would teach them to be a hard worker and all about carpentry and machanics I’m not going to give them a packet and tell them to do it instead we are going to do it together

Standard 4 subjects science, math, history, language arts. In addition they are welcome to learn any 2 things of their choice. We have 3 kids only 1 is old enough for 1st grade and we are homeschooling all of them. Have 3 tutors already.

School districts have a defined curriculum gir home schooling, and I'd follow that, with a homestyle touch.

Math and science. The classics. I would get them involved with the world around them and try to promote critical thinking.
