Spanish speakers: Teach me one interesting thing in Spanish?

It can be an interesting word, phrase, etc... I'm especially going for stuff that is commonly used in real life, but that I probably won't get from normal Spanish teaching courses and books.

not sure if this is something teachers will cover, but... perhaps, the most interesting thing about Spanish is its variety, just in Latin America you might have 12 different regions with their own regionalisms (slang, local phrases, double and even triple meaning)

every single country might have developed their own way to interpret the main language... and because of that, one word used in Mexico every day and in very common situations, might be a very offensive word in Spain, or Argentina, or somewhere else... and there are tons of them, so many... lol

and more than offending someone, it could lead to very funny situations or embarrassing ones

also... there's three "varieties" of Spanish which are the best to learn from, in their neutral form (meaning... these are the most clear from native speakers who do not have a heavy local accent and and use more of a neutral accent and proper language without too many local phrases)

- Mexican Spanish
- Chilean Spanish
- Colombian Spanish

I have noticed that. I started learning Spanish on Duolingo, but now I've also started listening to an audiobook that focuses on Spanish specific to Spain. So even some of the common words are a little different
