About how many months should I be at a job before I get any kind of pay raise?

Most jobs I have had, it usually has taken me 6 months of not at least 3 months to get maybe a 50 cent raise, I’ve been at this same job 9 months now and haven’t received a25 or 50 cent raise, I currently make $10 a hr.

Many companies consider the first 6 months as probation, and you wouldn't get a pay raise until after 6 months Some companies only give annual raises, which would mean waiting up to 12 months for a raise, or at least until the company's fiscal year end, which is when pay raises are most often given.

The exception to this is if you get a promotion, at which point you should get an immediate raise after being promoted.

It also depends on the job you're doing, and whether there are union rules that apply.

Depends, I’ve got a raise within a month before after I showed I actually did know what I was doing, and I think my longest would be my current job that I just hit a year with no raise. To be fair I started making pretty good money and they know I’m not sticking around long term so don’t have much leverage
I’d say 3-6 months is pretty standard, though personally I’d find a 50c raise to be a little insulting. If they’re not gonna give me a few bucks it’s not even worth it

November will be a year, but I am a cashier as well as i put stock up and help put the freight up too

There's no rules here. It might help to ask the boss "Hey what should I be doing if I want to get a raise?
A good boss will tell you what he's looking for, a bad one will help you decide to leave.

In France we never get a raise even if we worker there for 15 years.
