I've been with a tutoring company now for around 4 months and the pay is good but the hours are spotty and I only averaged around 6 hours of tutoring work a week working privately with clients. I have a new tutoring job at a center that is giving me consistent hours mon-thur and I accepted their job and did not really take into account my other job at all to make both work as I honestly care more about the new job. Am I a bad person for trying to get this new job and not taking into account my other job? My other job is trying to make me feel bad that I'm not leaving any open time for them to schedule me those times that the other job is scheduling me (afternoons/evenings Mon-Thur when kids in school need tutoring). What should I do?
I tend to be somewhat loyal to a company I work for. I prefer to give notice when I leave. However I'm not going to be some kind of martyr and sacrifice my future. If I get a good opportunity, I'm going. In some cases I might even feel a little bad about it, but I'll do it.
Moving from company to company is how you move up and make more money. You will usually advance much faster that way than staying with one company. That's just how it works.

I think if they were only giving you 6 hours of work a week, they really can't expect you to stay around.
It seems you have given them notice. This spotty hours and more travel time than actual work is a really unattractive part of tutoring work. To get a steady bunch of hours doing it is a way better deal. You ha e to do what is best for you.
It's never bad to leave a job for a better paying one.
If the old company really wanted to keep you, they'd up your compensation to do so.
Never let a company guilt you. They are never your friends.

Do what is best for you. You want/need more and consistent hours and they can’t provide it for you. The only person looking out for you is you! Don’t feel bad for leaving
If you aren't getting the hours you need, then leave. Business is business. Trust me, your employer will understand.
No you aren’t a bad person I’m honestly about to do the same for a better opportunity and a full time position
No. Companies aren't your friend. You could show them the offer and ask them to match though if you like.
Quit the job that isn't offering the hours you want. You owe nothing to them. It's business... You're making it personal, when it shouldn't be.
Always do what is best for you. Companies don't give a shit about their employees and will throw you under a bis for a dime.
You're not a bad person for trying to better yourself. Also they wouldn't feel bad for firing you for whatever reason.
