Back story I met my (ex) fiancé at 14 and he was 16. We had lots of feelings for each other at that age. We didn’t speak for almost 4 years after this. We reconnected at 18 and 19 years old. We instantly fell in love and I knew he was the one, the special one as he would call me. I knew I was going to marry him at 14 years old, but I thought that was just crazy young emotions.
Fast forward a few years we break up for a few months and the reason I don’t even remember. We get back together and are more in love than ever. We live together and just move in motion with each other. We stand side by side through everything.
Last November we got engaged and we were never happier, planning our wedding and ready to make the next step I’m now 25 and he’s 26. That December he goes self employed and is gone over the road for weeks at a time. During this time I didn’t work for 3 months and my mental health got bad, I was not being an equal partner like I was before.
We both decide that he was not doing well working over the road and wanted to come back home so we can work on us. So he went back to his old job and was really excited to be home. He had one more trip to make before he was home for good.
He starts getting close with a 21yr old kid at his job. We likes to party and run around with women and has never had a serious, long term relationship. The day before he broke up with me this 21yr old and him go to the gym while I’m working over night as a nurse. He tells me that “you changed and I don’t think I want to make it work”. Fast forward this kid admits he convinced my Ex that he deserved better and could do better because he saw a weakness in our relationship and wanted to move in with my ex so he could leave his parents.
So now we have hung out a few times and are speaking again. He tells me he wants to be with me but doesn’t think we can, that the grass isn’t greener and I’m the best he’s had.
So now what? I’m still extremely in love with him and I think he is too.
