How can I go for interviews?

I took a risk and left a job to work nearer to home. A woman I know works there, and she was all full of positive things about the place and people.

I've been here 5 months and regret leaving my other job. The people are toxic. The managers are bullies , they also stonewall you and give you the silent treatment. They're very vindictive too. I'm not being trained either so I'm struggling. It's horrendous.

The woman I know who works here has nothing to say but negative things now I've started. She has even admitted she's went home in tears many times because of the toxic environment. If she'd been honest when I applied I wouldn't have went to the interview.

I'm struggling getting another job, because I can't go for interviews due to working 40 hrs per week. I can't get time off to go for interviews so don't know how to get out of this awful place

If it's a large company it might be possible to move to a different dept. If not, stay long enough to look okay on your resume and split. As tempting as it may be, avoid bad mouthing the company to any future company for whom may you wind up working. It always looks bad and instead of making a positive impression about the new company it open the interviewers mind to the though that you may be a trouble maker or complainer if s/he hires you

Yeah it seems genuinely horrible and a lawsuit waiting to happen. You’re going to need to talk to future employers and even try going in on weekends and/or over the phone interviews when possible. If they’re reaosbale they will make reasonable accommodations

Lie to them. Tell them you’re sick or you have a personal conflict when you need time off for an interview. The worst they can do is fire you. Or you could always just quit.
