Why should I go to my interview when no one is hiring?

I got this job interview next week, but I been hearing both on the news and YouTube that no one is hiring. What's the point on going to the interview when no one is hiring and the employers ghosting you

If they were not interested in you there they would have told you sorry, we aren't hiring right now but you can leave your application if you want.
Companies are hiring, don't put too much stock in those 2 sources, they do not speak for everyone.
