So I graduated hs in Pakistan I think in 2015 my dad worked for the USA embassy so I had to stay there a few years my dad became abusive didn’t care about my education or pay my school fee after graduation in Pakistan I never went back to school came to NY in 2017 alone been working minimum wage since I’ve saved around 20-30k by now I helped my dad with money for years and he gambled it away but now I wanna become a nicu nurse but I don't know what to do what steps to take if I have a hs degree in Pakistan do I need ged how do I become a nurse i wanna stop feeling like a failure and burden on my self I wanna be better you can make fun of me it’s ok 😭but please help I would genuinely really appreciate any help or advice thank you 😊

I doubt if you need a GED if you already have a HS diploma in Pakistan. A GED is for people who did not finish HS.

There are many types of nurse, and they all require some kind of college. The college that you attend will have their own admission policies. They will probably accept your Pakistan HS degree, but you should check the specific college you want to go to.

You will also need specific classes. Even if you have a degree, you may lack certain classes. Normally you can still enter college without them, but you will need to take remedial classes in college, or "test out" of the classes (which is what I did for one class)

You didn't specifically say, but it sounds like you are a US citizen and a native English speaker? If you are not a native English speaker, you will need to show English proficiency to enter college, and probably a higher level proficiency to take nursing.

You can’t become a nurse on a high school degree, see about getting certified in a nursing program first. If they deny the documents, then just take the GED exam. Should be easy since you’ve already graduated.
