What are some fads that came around while you were at school?

So the main one I remember is high school musical and high school musical 2, in year 6 aka 10/11 final year of primary school. It was a huge thing about 40 of us went to school camp, and the entire hour coach ride was high school musical acapella, every single song from both the movies. It was also sung at our school talent show. Also on our last day of year six before moving to secondary school my whole class begged our teacher to allow us to reenact the beginning of the second movie. Where the whole class looked at the clock and banged the tables and stage whispered summer over and over. Then when the bell rang we were given permission to grab all the papers we gathered and threw them into the air while cheering and shouting lol (it sucked a little for me as that term I was the bell ringer so I rang the bell for break, lunch and end of day - I had to walk out of class and pull the handle and hold for a few seconds to ring the bell for the two buildings), but I still ran back in and chucked papers in the air. Then the whole class cleaned them like we said we would lol.

In year 7 was the whole jls Vs one direction and who's better.

There was also who's the cuter harry potter boy, Cedric, Harry, Malfoy were the contenders in my group.

Another thing was in year 8 12/13, was to grab a pair of 3D glasses from the cinema, push out the insides, and then wear the frames. This happened for like 2-3 months and I still have the pics somewhere. And I don't really know why either.

Around the same time was the whole twilight debate of Jacob Vs Edward, that was one I stayed out of I had friends on both sides and didn't want to spend hours arguing over it.

After that I started hanging out with a smaller group so a lot of other things swept right over us. Though I do remember the whole debate of whether Mr gray was actually all that hot in 50 shades of gray lol

Probably the weirdest one was Jesus bracelets. Clunky wooden bracelets with pics of Jesus on every square

During my school years, fads were quite different, yet similarly impactful. One memorable craze was the Pokémon trading cards frenzy, with everyone vying for rare cards during recess. The Spice Girls also had a huge influence, and many friends formed their own 'girl bands' mimicking them. Tamagotchi, those virtual pets, kept everyone occupied, and we inevitably got caught playing them during class. The fashion trend of wearing overalls with one strap unfastened was everywhere too. While these fads differ from yours, they similarly brought a strong sense of culture and community to our school experience.
