It's one thing if the schedule is already set and you asked to change it last minute, but if you're putting in your requests early like you're supposed to then they should respect that. Maybe you could talk to your boss again and remind them how much you've been a team player by always being there when it's your turn on the schedule. Let them know it's only fair they give you the same courtesy to enjoy your weekends off too.

If that doesn't work, I'd ask to meet with them and whoever else is in charge to go over the policy. Like, is it really fair that they can tell you no just because someone else asked after you?
