I've been doing community service at goodwill in the donations department. A few days ago we received a bunch of cds in one of those cd book cases. I asked the guy I work with what I should do with them. He told me to just toss them all in the garbage bin. It's like a 50 gal bin. When it's full, we go and dump it in a huge box. I don't know where it goes after that. I was talking to my friend about this and he told me I need to do something because if we don't dispose of them properly then they will go to a landfill and possible release toxic chemicals into the ground. I don't know, I guess im scared that if I say something about it, they'll do nothing and then ill have to report them. Then they'll be really pissed off. I was also gonna ask goodwill if i could have a job there, but I dont wanna do that if everyone's gonna be mad at me.

AskIt's important to balance environmental responsibility with workplace dynamics. Consider discussing your concerns with your supervisor, expressing worry about environmental impact, and politely suggest alternative solutions, like recycling. Approaching the matter respectfully and proactively may lead to a positive outcome without creating conflict. If handled well, it could even demonstrate your initiative and concern for sustainability, potentially strengthening your job application.
