Do you work on Valentine’s Day?

I’m bartending on Valentines and it’s gonna be a fucking nightmareeeee lol

I bartended last year too and I never wanted to make a margarita ever again. The amount of drink tickets was insane. And this year Valentines falls on a Friday so it’s gonna be even worse.

and I won’t even be making good money because 1. They’re gonna put servers in the bar area so we won’t be getting tables. And there’s no guarantee that people will sit at the actual bar. The bar at my restaurant is either completely full or completely empty, there’s no in between and there’s no way to predict it.

and 2. There will be another bartender on with me so we will be splitting the small amount of tips we do make. Tip share will be good (we get a percentage of the servers tips based on their sales) but we’ll have to split that too.

That’s why I haaaaate bartending on holidays. I make more money serving on a holiday than bartending.

they unfortunately always schedule me on holidays because I’m one of the stronger bartenders they have. So I just can’t escape it lol

My prediction is that I walk out with $115 after tip share. Which is not a lot considering this is one of the busiest days of the year. I make more than that on a regular Tuesday night 😐

I’ll come back to this question and update y'all on how much I do make lol
