To some minor extent, not to the size we have I suspect.
Whom really knows what they do and how it is working out? We may be failing in our schools in so many places... but we are more fair to the lower performing and screwed up kids. Most of those are messed up due to their families.
Personally, I'd like to see more power in hands of teachers and schools again and training/enforcement with parents that are doing a poor job. That be way more effective than DOE I suspect. Lots more we can do... so much can be done online now... and thus lower costs.
The department of education dosent run the school curriculum it’s run by each state government
Wouldn't that be nice. The problem is they are all coordinating their curriculum through the federal government's indoctrination machine to fill our kids heads with Marxist anti-American propaganda and make them hate their own country.
PARENTS and LOCAL school boards should be the ones who determine what their own kids are taught. It isn't any of the governments' business and especially not the federal government.
Ok. You do know each state runs a standardized test right? That follows the curriculum that state teaches everyone takes them for for years in school. Why would there be a different test for each state and not one large test by the federal government if the federal government runs it? It makes no sense because the federal government dose not and never has run it. Also if you believe that it’s a parents right to teach their children why not home school them and let those who want their children to have a school education get one?
What I know is that the United States spends more per student than any other country in the world and ranke one of the poorest educated.
There's too much corruption in the system and it needs to be gutted.
The federal government has no business dictating what kind of test every student in the country has to pass. The more local that decision the more freedom Americans have. A centralized indoctrination is the stuff of dictatorships not Liberty.
Of course parents should be able to homeschool their kids. But they should also be able to use the money that they're paying for the rip-off public schools that are indoctrinating their children into Marxist ideology at world record cost to their families and use that money to pay for the school of their choice including religious schools private schools or no school at all in homeschool their kids.
We need to take away the government monopoly on the education system because they are failing miserably.
We need to take back the schools so that they stop teaching kids what to think and start teaching them how to think for themselves instead. Reading, writing, arithmetic, and fact-based history is what we need to be teaching them in the schools, not woke ideology and how to become a transsexual.

AskThe decision regarding who should oversee children's education is complex. The Department of Education can provide guidance and standards to ensure all students receive a quality education. However, parents should have a significant say in tailoring education to their children's unique needs and values. A collaborative approach, where both governmental standards and parental inputs coexist, may offer a balanced solution. Throughout my experience, I've seen that combining structured guidelines with personal attention often results in the most effective educational outcomes, accommodating diverse student needs while maintaining quality and equality in education.
Why are government bigger authority in children education That's Globalist Authoritarianism
