The principle of sufficient reason is easily verifiable even in layman's terms, so why are there still creationists?

The Principle of Sufficient Reason is simply stated as: “For every fact F, there must be an explanation why F is the case”

In otherwords everything has a cause. The issue with creationism is it proposes a begining to everything, but there can be no first thing, because to exist, it must be caused by some prior thing.

The only logical conclusion is infinity (or more specifically eternity), is the age of existence.
People for some reason don't like that though, because you can't measure infinity.

I'm honestly fine with it and I don't understand the hate, or the drive to replace that in one's mind with a finite, contradictory view like a god or some universe wide expansion event.

The principle of sufficient reason is easily verifiable even in layman's terms, so why are there still creationists?
