Should I try to reapply to my old job that I got fired from?

It's been a year and a half. I don't know if they're still mad at me. One of my old co-workers reapplied and they didn't take him.

I don't really even want to show my face around there, but I haven't had much luck finding something else. But I'm also afraid if I reapply they'll bring up the past or what I got fired for. I'd kind of prefer not to know. There's a different person doing the hiring now, but some of my old supervisors are still there, including the asshole who fired me.

I should note, they didn't technically "fire" me, they just ended my season and took me off the books and never called me back, so I can always act dumb. In my state, they don't have to give you a reason for firing you, but I'd rather not know honestly if it's something embarrassing.

Also if I don't get rehired, my mom will get suspicious even though I think she already knows.

It was a very stressful job.

I might reapply if I knew they weren't still mad at me. I don't have anyone I can ask. I also had a bit of a falling out with someone there, and I don't know if that person still works there, or what shit may have been talked about me.

I also don't want to be stressed before my trip.

Never go backwards unless the opportunity is grand and they ask for you back. And in your case, you really shouldn't be looking backwards with that particular job since you were indeed let go and didn't resign. Even if you had just resigned, I would still say don't go backwards but because they let you go, I would just try to look for something else. I know the job market is hard right now but I would advise you to not look back at a job that let you go! I repeat don't look back at a job that let you go!

I kept going back even though I didn't want to 'cuz it was all I had, and it was better then sitting at home not making money.

Yeah, it's hard. Trump hasn't done shit for the job market.

I would advise you to do something that will hire you fast like Amazon or DoorDash until you can find a more permanent full time job instead of trying to go back to a job that let you go and that was very stressful. That's what I did over the summer and fall of last year when I didn't have a job and was looking. It didn't make as much as I would have liked but it paid the bills when I did a lot of hours.

With a degree it's a little embarrassing, but it's better than sitting at home not making money. And I guess broadening your resume and getting more experience is always good

I also thought about working some fairs. It's only for a few days and doesn't pay much, but it's always something to add to my resume.

Yes working is better than not working at all. Working some fairs could be a good gig as well. But definitely consider Amazon. My boyfriend works there and loves it. You get to listen to music which makes the time go by fast. Doordash is also a good option if you have a good car because you get to choose your own schedule. But ultimately find something. Anything that can get the income flowing until you find a more permanent full time job.

I would suggest you don't. I think you're just asking to be humiliated, like, "Hit me again." You don't want to do that to yourself! It would only destroy your confidence, which would make finding a new job that much harder.

I am in this situation rn but won't because I have to show interest in jobs that fit my quals and experience in order to claim employment insurance. There are like 4 jobs a month I can do and I need to apply for 7 to keep qualification up
