One would sincerely hope that the person who royally fucked you had some devious plan that they gave meticulous thought to. That they had thought things through. That they were aware of all the benefits of having you around and that this was the inevitable result of some deeper and grander scheme.

The reality is that that person fucked you over without giving it a second thought. They didn't have some master plan. They didn't carefully think things through. They saw an opportunity for short term selfish gain and they took it without any consideration for how it would affect anyone around them.

And the vast majority of the time, they won't even actually reap the benefit for betraying you.
