Can I ask the same question twice?

I had a phone chat interview for a job.

It was the Human Resources manager who was asking me now what I'm currently doing and told me info about the role I applied for.

I looked on their company website and saw they did community work, but didn't say what.

When the interviewer on the phone said "Do you have any questions for me?"

I asked "I've seen you're company is involved with the community. What type of events have you attended and what's been your favourite one"

She liked the question I asked and I got an interview with one of the managers. She will be in the second interview which is in person.

Can I ask that question again to the other manager or can I ask "what has been your favourite community event?"

Can I ask that question again when. I've already asked it?

If its not the same person its ok. I don't like the question though because its artificial. Maybe that works in the enterprise HR world where everything is fake, maybe it scored points because it shows your willing to bend to corporate culture or something but it doesn't work for me neither would it impress me if I was asked to recruit.

I take job interviews as dates, its not an interrogation to me its a conversation. And usually I am so proactive during the conversation in finding out if its a match that by the end when they ask me that I can recite the various questions I had that got answered in a short summary. Shows them I was effective in getting the info I needed and its authentic. Of course if I have a question i'd ask, but I don't fake. A job interview with me as the candidate is a real experience not one where I am desperate to get hired, because I want something that works for both of us and makes me happy, not just something that pays. My goal is to be on the same page, not to be hired.

That style landed me every job (granted i'm good at my job so during those interviews my skills are apparent), except 2 that were not good fits due to a health issue. But they told me I can always contact them for a position once that was healed because we landed on the same page that I was a great candidate minus that part but that we couldn't align it.

So personally i'd say don't play games and try to find out if the job fits you rather than trying to get them to find out that you fit the job. Because if the job fits you and you both come to that conclusion during the conversation its going to leave a stronger impression than the generic answer candidate.
