What outfit would be good for an interview for an office job?

Hi, I’m a female in my early twenties. I’ve only had a few interviews, and I would always wear the same outfit. That outfit is a blue blazer with a nice white top under it, but I would never get hired. I don’t have a lot of professional clothing since most of my work experience is working at restaurants. I have another interview coming up and I’m wondering what would be a good interview outfit for a female?

In my experience, any time you interview for a position, you should be professional, and conservative, depending on the environment you are looking into.

A Blazer with a white top sounds appropriate, but you did not say what you were wearing from the waist down? My view, and only my view, when I see women in my office, from The Irvine Company, in Newport Beach, they wear nice tops, (blouse) and skirts, and many/most (as with airline flight attendants) they also wear hose of some kind, as that is a professional 'look"

Other than that, you might buy a a nice Pants Suit, and wear heels if appropriate for the job you want

For an office interview, a pant suit would be ideal, but that can be expensive. A nice pair of dark slacks and lighter color blouse (opened only at the collar, don't show cleavage) would be nice. The goal is to look professional. Don't use too much makeup and stay away from high heels; comfortable shoes (not sneakers) with a moderate heel is preferred.

The interviewer is more interested in your qualifications and if you would be a good fit for the job than how you look. But a good first impression, that you can only make once, by being appropriately dressed, certainly helps.
