What do you think life will be like in 10 to 20 years?

Just saw a robotic mop and vacuum cleaner for the first time and it was cleaning the floors inside the gas station. Blew my mind for a second. I know this has been out but I had never seen one before especially not in a store.

Makes me think more jobs like cleaning jobs is going to be taken in 10 years or less by robots/ai.

That we have said on here. There will be a record of it. I talk about the government. All the some things I say are not nice. I walk into the store. Try to buy some food. If they are my bank, they will say sorry, but your card is not going through for some reason. Try again tomorrow.

The future is so unpredictable that I think any predictions are best guesses. In the financial world the term "black swan" has come to mean any unpredictable but catastrophic event in the financial markets. Usually one that affects all market sectors and all countries. In 1987 there was one day when the DJIA was down 800 points- back when the average wasn't much more than a couple of thousand. That made a huge percentage fluctuation. On the other hand, keeping some powder dry for just such events allows you to make purchases well below FMV for the market. Of course going into 2007 with every investment bank as well as insurance companies and car manufacturers wiped out Bear, Lehman etc. It revealed how grossly overpaid CEOs like John Thain with Merrill Lynch was- though he somehow got away with a golden parachute. As far as markets go the best advice comes from Warren Buffet who cautions that when absolutely everyone is saying you should be in market is when you should run like hell and when no one wants to discuss the stock market, it's likely a good time to buy.

Right now we're at the overbought end of the spectrum where the only surprise seems to be the direction & amount of the LIBOR. With everything fully priced it seems like time for a correction minimally. Most people on here probably have never been invested during an actual bear market which is usually defined as a drop of 20% + from market highs. They can be brutal and the last thing you'll want to consider is buying stocks. Yet that is likely the best time if you want to out-perform market.

AI is turning into a market bust except for Invidia and tech stocks are retreating from previously set highs.

My prediction is the US dollar will no longer be the global standard in 20 years, if it is, it will have been thoroughly debased along with every welfare program that doesn't benefit corporations.  That burger that's currently $5? Imagine it being $30+ in 20 years. A single billionaire has more political power than 10 million US voters. There are 900+ billionaires in the US and far more in the rest of the world. They are counting on a societal meltdown, Zuckerburg, Bezos and many others have fallout shelters in places like Hawaii. Boomers are the most selfish generation in history, they'd rather see the world burn and sacrifice their children than give up any power and wealth to see their grandchildren's success. If you want to see the future, look no further than the "Mouse Utopia" experiment. Despite providing unlimited food and a perfect environment, the experiment led to social collapse, violence, and ultimately extinction of the mouse population due to behavioral issues arising from overcrowding.

Well the U. S. will continue to decline and different countries will be competing for influence so there will be more war and instability globally. But tech wise I don't know exactly these things are kind of hard to estimate. Like Elon Musk has been promising self driving cars for like 12 years and he got overtaken by pretty much every company who does self driving cars. Even when the technology is ready when will people be ready to adapt these cars at a large scale? These things usually take time. People always act like they know what the next big thing is going to be and how you're missing out if you're not part of it but in reality it usually turns out completely different. Maybe there will be some technology nobody has even thought of yet today that becomes super relevant suddenly.

In 20 years, America will be number 2 in economy and in power. The economy will have become stagnant or fall into a depression caused by the government and bad management. The Constitution will no longer exist or be recognized and respected.

China becomes the new world power, claiming Taiwan, the islands belong to Japan and Korea, and much of the air space near it.

Mt Fuji will have erupted for the 2nd time.

Countries with 4 seasons will have 3 seasons, with spring blending into summer and summers lasting until October in the countries in the northern hemisphere.

I think they will eventually have homeless AI BOTS living on the streets because they can't find a job.
There will be too many of them eventually and will end up with the same problem as humans - homeless!
Maybe they can pick our fruits and vegetables and put the Mexicans out of work.

I have no idea, but I  HOPE  I get my business off the floor, have a steady income, and have a place of my own in even a few years. Then I can start saving for my dream life... living off grid and renovating my own camper van. Anything after that, I'd use to support my mom and brother. And hopefully in 10 to 20 years, I'd have already found love and have a family of my own.

People thought there would be flying cars in 2000. It's 2025 musk only semi created a car that can return to you across town when asked, and even that has failed many times. His other vehicle locks you inside when it catches on fire. The current US admin is sending the country backwards to 1950.

So add up failure and regression. We might be back to horse and buggy. But the horses have wisened up so maybe cart without horses.
