What's a project you've been working on that you're really proud of?

I am still working on a made-by-scratch booknook. I have plans to finish it this weekend. It is a famous Japanese alley in Tokyo (in Shinjuku) called Omoide Yokocho. I have made little shops, pub doors, special eateries, lanterns, yellow wood crates and things that are found above on the walls of the alley, like air conditioners, windows, pipes, balconies, all made from wood, clear plastic and clay. Some fine cardboard. I have made the lathers from clay that I painted. I've made the signs in Japanese for restaurants. I've bought tiny sakura blossoms and lights to light up the lanterns that will hang above the restaurants. I've been working on it since June, and it's driving me crazy that it's not done. It will be enclosed and the front will be one of the entrances to this alley with its famous green sign in Japanese, Omoide Yokocho. It means "Memory Lane".

My memoir. I didn't think at first telling my story was worth exploring but the more I thought about everything I've gone through- losing friends and family members at a young age to death, sexual assault, rejection, love and heartbreak, mental illness and being a late bloomer, the more I realize I have a story to tell. I think my experiences are very relatable and something that a lot of people especially women will resonate with.

Myself, last year around this time my best friend from childhood pasted away. I feel like I should/could have done more to stop it from happening. That feeling made me going running. It's one year later I've been working out consistently since and I'm proud to say I think he would be proud of me

Not my own self-initiated project, but I am working with people together to create an internet security workshop for both old and young. Smartphones and internet access are reaching children as well as retirement homes. That's nothing you can change, but these people still need to know what to do and what to avoid, as well as learning about traps, etc.

Ok I've done nothing special, I've never been married or had children, but I'm pleased with my efforts.

I have thousands of pictures... of family, places we've visited, places we've lived, pets, etc. That includes lots of printed photos as well as electronic ones. I'm digitizing all of them and organizing them into separate folders, and will share them with family. It's a multi-year effort and I'm about 2/3 there.
