Rental Units and Vanguard 500. The going rent for 2-bedroom of about 850 sq. ft. in neighboring Costa Mesa is $3000+. A 14 unit building with full occupancy grosses about $35K per month (carry-overs and rent control). At the current profit rate it will pay for itself in less than seven years. I've been averaging around 12% per year with Vanguard. Try to keep some liquidity, so I have Ally and Poppy accounts, but Poppy is barely over 4% and Ally is currently a bit lower, so I only keep a bit in there.
I don't make macroeconomic policy. I react to it. Thanks MAGA!

@rachel776 I pay Fidelity to manage my portfolio. They buy and sell as the market moves, but a large portion of my portfolio is/was set by my deceased brother. He invested in Navida, Microsoft, Crowdstrike, Eli Lilly, and several big hitters like that, and also some smaller amounts in Tesla. Fidelity has sold some of each of those and bought into a Huge portfolio with several hundreds of smaller companies.
Multiple things, but fairly safe, with moderate growth, and some money markets.
And I have been doing pretty good.
It's going up, slow but sure, hence the moderate growth, but I haven't lost anything either.
I'm a swing trader and hedge all my trades so I hold different positions every week. Right now I'm slightly bullish, 60/40 bullish to bearish positions.
My investments are balanced: stock market, ETFs, mutual funds, bonds, cash and some precious metals.
silver. i've been in stocks, silver, and gold for most of my childhood and adult life but the last year i took everything and put it in silver (my favorite metal). The only reason I pulled out of stocks is because of politics. It bothered me what some companies have been doing/saying so I decided to just not be involved with them at all, and while silver gets manipulated sometimes by "evil people", the metal itself remains silent. :D
The small amount of money I have invested are in safe, lower risk funds. Too much uncertainty out there right now in my opinion to be more risky.
Myself, finding happiness and living each day better then the last.
I'm saying when I make money I don't put it into stocks or other people ideas I put my money in my own ideas. Right now I'm starting my own business. A plant nursery and flower shop. It's been a dream all my life and I thought to get it I needed to make more money first... not true. I realized all I was missing was to believe in myself. Once I started using the money I did have to do what I always wanted, instead of tryin to get more first. I made my dream into reality. We can always get more money. we can't always get more happy with that money. I realized that.
