The school had locked all the doors except the front door and that was across from the office and somebody would see you if you tried to leave. The school was having a new addition built and I roamed around it one day and found a closet that had a ladder that went up to a hatch that opened up to the roof. So on the Friday before April vacation I wanted to leave before lunch time and cut 6th and 7th periods so I could hitchhike to the beach for the week. So after 5th period I got my overnight bag out of my locker and snuck in the new addition and climbed up on the roof. I ran across and jumped down on top of the cafeteria. I threw my bag off the roof and started climbing down the drainpipe. I could see the vice principle standing there with hi back turned. All he had to do was turn around and he would see me. Some of the kids saw me a d started laughing and pointing at me. I jumped the last ten feet or so, picked up my bag and started running. I was not sure if anyone saw me but when I went to school on Monday I didn;t hear a peep about it.

2 moIt was 2007 for me, and the coolest thing was that I performed Shakespeare at the RSC theatre in Stratford on Avon.

You skipped grades?
- 2 mo
Nope. They don't do that here. That was when our final exams (GCSEs) were.
- 2 mo
Oh ok.
I graduated in 1972. I learned Modern Jazz Dancing.
But what helped me tremendously in high school was my home economics class. Especially the cooking and baking things. But I was taught to clean up as I go. I never had a pile of dirty dishes in the sink or counter tops.
Only the dishes and silverware, and our drinking glasses were all that was left to clean up.22 Reply- 2 mo
did they have buses back then?

I finished high school in the late 90s, long before smartphones took over everything.
Coolest thing I did? I helped start a small âbusiness clubâ that turned into a real project: we organized a schoolâwide fundraiser, did basic budgeting, marketing posters, and even pitched to the principal for a tiny budget.
It was the first time I saw ideas, teamwork, and money all come togetherâhonestly sparked the path that eventually led me to business school and career coaching.00 Reply

2 moThe coolest thing i did was: something I didn't want happened. I was in an orthodox jew high scool* in Alabama (not really, but it was 1 of 30 States where the age of consent is 16). I was a super nerd, despised, until somehow a rabbi found out, i secretly met a teen gal in 1992. I wanted secrecy! I was orthodox jew! He decided, the best educational method, was to humiliate me, when students were in the hallway. Well that backfired. I was considered cool. :D I graduated a few months later in summer 1992. Right before my 17 birthday. Because i skipped up to preschool 5 early.
20 Reply I was 17 turning 18 in the January..
The best / coolest thing was the class invasion we did , ( custom at the time ) stockings over face face , flour , water guns , people screaming , we really took it to a new level..
Police called..
And the champagne breakfast on break up day at 7am , pretty much entire year was intoxicated , principle came and gave some pathetic speech saying what an " horrendous year 12 we were " and we all laughed and yelled at him.
External exams started next day , so he had no influence , it was a fun year.10 Reply- 628 opinions shared on Education & Career topic.
2 moI graduated when I shouldn't have, I really ducked in HS. I should have gone to a therapist, gotten some remedial help from tutors and then progressed... if only we had a real system. But I got through it and college was awsome.
I got to play golf on the HS team. I got an eagle one day by accident, cool... not the bird...2 strokes on a 4 stroke hole! On a down day, I hit a ball so bad it hit an oak tree, bounced, and whacked me in the gut. I was down and out for a while. I was really low at that point, not even safe playing golf... lol. Life kicks ya sometimes.
That's why when people ask me if I've got balls, I say yes, I've had too many of them. lol.

2 moI didn't graduate, left in 2014 (?). Fondest memory was a couple of EOTC days one where my friends and I went to the national museum then just went back to one of their places and watched movies all day with snacks. Another where a bunch of us did a overnight trip to the south island, walked a couple hours to a campsite, had fish and chips for dinner, played spotlight, hung out in the pool and hot tub till it was 1am.

2 moI think just partying at bars in New York City. Underage, didn't really go on any trips, was damn near broke, I had a driver's license but no car, I was still a virgin before I graduated, so yeah visiting a bar. Not too exciting as it became my career later

2 mo92, there so many things going on, I played football and baseball, but in between I was the Mascot for our basketball team, I used to run up the padded wall of the gym and slam the scoreboard at halftime with that really hot costume on. The only other kid that could do that was the former mascot, who broke his during soccer that year and couldn't do it, so he asked me.

2 mo1994. There were some minor explosives on the end of final year muck up day... teachers seemed to think it was a 'safety risk' and took the hard stance of suspending students... from the end of class to the start of exams... that'll show them!

Me and my buddy made a movie of an Edgar Allen Poe story, 'cuz the other options were lame, so we asked the teacher if we could make a movie and she let us, and even showed it in other classes. It's still on YouTube
