I have worked in a high School as a custodian but now I'm at an elementary school for the summer and may become longer if everything goes right. I feel like people see the work more in elementary than in high school.

Mostly elementary. I worked as a paraprofessional in a Catholic school for a kindergartner. And I was the after school assistant for the whole school. Kindergarten through 8th grade. The middle schoolers weren’t a big population. The preschoolers were more well behaved.
Elementary. Generally they don't start trying to shoot eachother till at least middle school.😜
Depended on what my job in the school was going to be.

I’d personally choose based on three things I’ve learned coaching people in schools for 20+ years:
1. Where you feel valued. If staff, admin, and families at the elementary notice and appreciate your work more, that matters a lot for long‑term satisfaction.
2. Daily atmosphere. Elementary tends to be warmer and more community‑oriented; high school can feel more independent and anonymous.
3. Growth opportunities. Ask which site offers better hours, stability, chances to learn new skills.
If elementary is giving you more respect and visibility, I’d strongly lean toward staying there.
